I didn't like it. Not really.
It's like Disney said, "lets make a steampunk nihilist movie and put Frodo in the lead!"
It was like a rusty kinetic sculpture. All movement, no motivation. I'm assuming that the 9 were supposed to represent certain aspects of the Dr' guys soul, but they didn't really hint at it very well. Just said they were parts of his soul - not that this one was his inner child, this one was his inner grumpy old man, this one was his inner hero. That would have made it much cooler.
Maybe I'm just getting old, but it was way too hard for me to track all the movement going on.
